Emerging new technologies in stem cell biology and bioengineering are rapidly advancing, enabling the development of more complex and sophisticated models of human neural tissue. We can use stem cells to engineer specific human neuronal cell types, generate mini 'brain-like' organoids and bioprint 3D neuronal networks. These technological advances provide new and exciting opportunities to model and study the human nervous system as well as to build platforms for screening candidate therapies to treat neurological diseases.
Creative Biolabs has invited Dr. Mirella Dottori to walk us through the spectrum of stem cell-based neuronal models and their fit for purpose.
In this webinar, we will explore and review the following key points:
Different approaches used to model the human nervous system using human stem cells
The advantages and challenges with the different model approaches
How they may be suited for different research purposes
