According to automotive experts at Autobrezik.com, BMW is preparing to launch the X8, a flagship SUV coupe that aims to be even more luxurious and exclusive than the current X7. While based on the X7, the X8 is expected to offer a unique style and more premium features.
Design: A Blend of X6 and X7
As Autobrezik.com reports, recent renders suggest that the X8's silhouette will be a combination of the X6 and X7 models. It is expected to retain the large kidney grille with seven vertical slats from the X7, but with slimmer LED headlights for a more aggressive look. The side profile will differ from the X7 with a more sloping coupe-style roofline. A sporty rectangular exhaust system will adorn the rear.
Interior: Luxury and Technology
The interior of the new BMW X8 is likely to be even more upscale than the X7. Three rows of seats are expected to be retained, but the coupe styling may result in less head and legroom for rear passengers. Standard equipment should include highly comfortable seats and black SensaTec upholstery. Options such as a two-tone interior and a panoramic sunroof with LED lighting are expected to be available.
Engines: Powerful and Efficient
Under the hood, the new BMW X8 will most likely utilize the same engine options as the X7. The base engine could be a 3.0-liter inline-six with 250 kW (340 hp). For more demanding customers, an xDrive50i version with a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 390 kW (530 hp) will be available.
A plug-in hybrid version is also expected, which could combine the 3.0-liter inline-six with an 80 kW (109 hp) electric motor. Total output could be around 290 kW (389 hp).
The top speed of the X7 is 250 km/h, and this is likely to be the case for the X8 as well. Interestingly, there is some speculation that an M variant could also be available, possibly with a 4.4-liter V8 engine producing 380 kW (510 hp).
Launch Date and Price
The upcoming BMW X8 is drawing near and will be based on the X7. Both models essentially share many features. However, the X8 will be more expensive as it represents more upscale and high-end technologies.
Expected Price:
Starting price: from CZK 1,900,000. The BMW X8 is expected in 2024.
